Doug Purdon lives in Toronto with his wife, the author Rosemary Aubert. He graduated from the Ontario College of Art and is represented by ARNOLD FINE ART in Newport, RI; THE MARITIME GALLERY at Mystic Seaport, CT; and by STUDIO 737 in Tweed, Ontario.
He teaches painting classes and leads workshops on a variety of topics at LOYALIST COLLEGE, Belleville; SCHOOL of CONTINUING STUDIES – UNIVERSITY of TORONTO and BRIDGEWATER RETREAT. He also conducts workshops for many art associations in Canada.
Doug’s popular book COLOR SECRETS for GLOWING OIL PAINTINGS was published by North Light publications. His work has also appeared in various art books and INTERNATIONAL ARTIST magazine. His paintings hang in private and corporative collections in Canada, the US and Britain.
