Early in her career she went to work as a commercial artist for the Government of Saskatchewan and later with the London Free Press as a fashion illustrator. All her work is oil on canvas.

Margaret has over the years, received a number of commissions in Canada, these include a mural for the Regina Shrine Club, Wa Wa temple, the original design for a commemorative statue, erected in Northern Ontario, and recently, a large portrait for the Northumberland Catholic School Board. Her work is in private collections in Canada, the United States and Australia.
