Born October 21, 1956, in Trois-Rivières (Québec), Raymond Quenneville grew up in La Tuque where he learned the basics of drawing and painting. In 1975, he was already exhibiting oil works in a few boutiques in the Mauricie region. Afterwards, he produced illustrations and nature interpretive panels for the Québec Government. From 1980 to 1990, his job for Parks Canada gave him the opportunity to live in many scenic locations, which obviously had an influence on future events in his life. During this period of time, he explored a variety of media, including watercolour, ink and soft lead pencil. In 1992, he went back to oil painting, and decided to perfect his style in expressing landscape and light. There is a permanent exhibition of his work at the Galerie Royale in Québec City, at the Galerie Beauchamp in Baie Saint-Paul (Quebec) and at the Owl 57 Gallery (New York).
