SCA Winter Gala Comes to Vancouver!

Annual Winter Holiday Gala
on Saturday November 23rd at The Blue Horizon Hotel

We are thrilled to announce that the Society of Canadian Artists’ Winter Gala will be hosted for the first time in Vancouver this year! Mark your calendars for November 23, 2024, as we gather at the stunning Blue Horizon Hotel for an unforgettable evening of art, conversation, and celebration.
This year, we’re especially excited to bring this event to our western counterparts and extend a warm welcome to our newest Elected Members! It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow artists and celebrate the vibrant talent and creativity within the SCA community.
The early bird ticket price is $55 per person until October 23rd. After that, the tickets will be $70 per person. Please register by November 12, 2024.
Doors open at 5:00 pm and dinner will be served at 6:30 pm.

Hotel Booking Information for Blue Horizon
- Go to the official website : https://www.bluehorizonhotel.com
- Click the Blue Reservation Box
- Select the Arrival Date + Check out Date and then click on Special Codes or Rates (under the check out date…top right corner) and click the dropdown menu to find GROUP CODE (not promo code). Enter SOCA2024 into the box.
- Select the Book now Box and fill in the details and a confirmation will automatically be sent.
For those not comfortable booking online they can also call the Reservation Department to book a room from the SOCA2024 block over the phone at 604-688-1411.
22nd Annual Art Exchange
The Art Exchange is a great way to start or continue your collection of other members’ work.
Did you know that as a Member or Associate Member of SCA you have a unique opportunity to collect original works of art from some of Canada’s top artists at no cost? Yes! Every year at the Annual Winter Holiday Gala, all SCA members and associate members are invited to participate in the “Mini Art Exchange” which takes place at the event.
You don’t necessarily have to attend (after all we come from all across Canada!), but are welcome to mail in your 3.25″x 3.25″ entry, which will then qualify you for a piece of art in return. Pieces are drawn at random and yours will be mailed to you.
“But I don’t have anything new/that size/appropriate/etc..” you may be saying. No problem, if you don’t want to create a new work – look around your studio – surely there are plenty of works that never quite seemed complete, or satisfactory……check out a 4″ square area anywhere, I’m sure you’ll find little treasures hiding in plain sight! Cut it out, et voila!
We invite you to consider being part of this enjoyable experience and acquire a fabulous miniature artwork! Imagine the joy of receiving an original artwork from a fellow member. It’s a wonderful way to connect and appreciate the talent within our SCA community. Don’t miss out on this chance to add something special to your collection!
