VIRTUAL AWARD GALA AUGUST 29, 2024

In addition to the increased prizes, we are delighted to announce a virtual gala event for the Grand Opening. This online celebration will bring together artists, art lovers, and members of the SCA community from across the country to enjoy and discuss the incredible works on display. The virtual format ensures that everyone can participate and share in the excitement, regardless of their location.

We encourage all SCA members to participate. Whether through innovative techniques, unique perspectives, or compelling subject matter, we look forward to seeing how you will bring your untold stories to life.

Eligibility, Terms & Conditions of Entry

Eligibility: 

The SCA 56th Juried Exhibition is an online exhibition that is open to all SCA members (Elected & Associates). All electronic submissions meeting the terms and conditions of entry will be forwarded to the jurors for adjudication, and the juror-accepted and award winning pieces will be exhibited online on the SCA website. 

Terms and Conditions of Entry:

By submitting your entry, you are agreeing to the following:

• Up to 3 artworks, $40 CAD for SCA members in good standing. Jury fees are non-refundable. Maximum of 2 artworks will be accepted.

• You may submit up to 3 views of each piece

NEW: You may write a 260-character description of your piece.

  1. The exhibition is open to all SCA Elected and Associate members.

  2. All submissions must be original artwork in traditional media including painting, drawing, pastel, printmaking, sculpture, fibre art, photography, mixed media, and digital art. Artwork must be solely created by the artist without guidance from an instructor(s) and must not be copies or derivatives of other artist paintings, photographs (copyrighted or not), or other artistic work. Artwork utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) platform is not permitted.

  3. Art must have been completed within 3 years of the entry deadline and must not have been previously exhibited in an SCA exhibition.

  4. There are no size restrictions for artwork for this online Exhibition.

  5. Any infractions of the rules may result in serious consequences; including, but not limited to: the removal of the artwork from the exhibition, the forfeiting of entry fees and/or award prizes, a prohibition from entry to future SCA exhibitions, and the artist expulsion from the SCA.

  6. After the entry is submitted, there will be no changes or substitutes allowed.

  7. The artist by submission grants the SCA the right to utilize images of the accepted work for publicity, educational, references, and website purposes.

  8. The artist will handle all artworks that are for sale and should priced in Canadian funds ($CAD). As an online exhibition Not-For Sale (NFS) art is allowed. The SCA will not take any commission for this exhibition.

Image Specifications

For this exhibition, you may enter up to 3 images. Please ensure the images meet the following specifications.

  1. Must be in jpg format only (jpg or jpeg)
  2. Only the image of your artwork should show (no frames or extraneous backgrounds)
  3. Images must not be smaller than 800px on its shortest side *
  4. Image files cannot exceed 2.0 MB *

Image files are to be named using the following convention:
FirstName LastName, Title, Medium, Size**.jpg (ie: Jane Doe, My Painting Title, Acrylic, 18×24.jpg)

*Images that do not meet these specifications will fail to upload. Please make sure your files are sized properly before you begin the submission process.
**Size to be specified in INCHES in HxWxD with D-Depth only required for 3-D work.

The SCA will be using EntryThingy as its online submission provider for this exhibition.
