2024 SCA Elected Members
Juried Exhibition

The SCA’s last BIG exhibition of the year will be the 2024 SCA Elected Members Juried Exhibition –  featuring the $5,000 Mary Pratt Crystal Award, which is our largest and most prestigious award of the YEAR!!

To recognize the value of being an SCA Elected Member, this exhibition is exclusively open to SCA Elected Members in good standing. Associate members are not eligible. 

All accepted and award-winning pieces will be exhibited on the SCA website. As an additional opportunity, artists with accepted work may also elect to participate in the in-person gallery exhibition.

Maximum number of artworks per entry: Artists may submit two artworks for jurying. Only 1 artwork per artist will be accepted if juried into the show.

Elected Member Entry Fee: $40 (non-refundable) for up to 2 artwork images.

EligibiliTy, Terms & Conditions of Entry

Eligibility:

The 2024 SCA Elected Members Juried Exhibition is a hybrid online/in-person exhibition that is open to Elected SCA Members, in good standing. Associate members are not eligible. All electronic submissions meeting the terms and conditions of entry will be forwarded to the jurors for adjudication, and the juror-accepted and award-winning pieces will be exhibited online on the SCA website. As an additional opportunity, artists with accepted work may also elect to participate in the in-person gallery exhibition. Note that insurance coverage will not be included for artwork during shipping or in the gallery. Artists wishing to have their work insured are encouraged to secure their own coverage.


Terms and Conditions of Entry:

By submitting your entry, you are agreeing to the following:

  1. All submissions must be original artwork and must not be copies or derivatives of someone else’s: paintings, photographs (copyrighted or not), or other artistic work. The artwork must be solely created by the artist without guidance from an instructor(s).
  2. The media must be clearly identified and may include techniques such as: painting, drawing, pastel, printmaking, sculpture, fibre art, photography, mixed media, and digital art. Artwork generated using an artificial intelligence (AI) platform is NOT permitted.
  3. Art must have been completed within 3 years of the entry deadline and must not have been previously exhibited in an SCA exhibition. Submissions with variations from previously accepted work may be deemed to be a resubmittal, and therefore ineligible.
  4. The maximum dimensions of the artwork are: For 2D artworks 40″ x 72″ including frame. For 3D artwork 36″ maximum on longest dimension.
  5. Any infractions of the aforementioned entry conditions may result in serious consequences; including, but not limited to the removal of the artwork from the exhibition, the forfeiting of award prizes, a prohibition from entry to future SCA exhibitions, and the artist’s expulsion from the SCA.
  6. After the entry is submitted, there will be no changes or substitutes allowed.
  7. The artist by submission grants the SCA the right to utilize images of the accepted work for the Exhibition’s publicity and website purposes.
  8. Artworks for sale should be priced in Canadian funds ($CAD). There will be 30% commission to sales in this exhibition.
  9. The SCA Elected Members Juried Exhibition will be a hybrid online/ in-person exhibition. Image Specifications

For this exhibition, you may enter up to 2 images. Please ensure the images meet the following specifications.

  1. Must be in jpg format only (jpg or jpeg)
  2. Only the image of your artwork should show (no frames or extraneous backgrounds)
  3. Images must not be smaller than 800px on its longest side *
  4. Image files cannot exceed 2.5 MB *

Image files are to be named using the following convention:
FirstName LastName, Title, Medium, Size**.jpg (ie: Jane Doe, My Painting Title, Acrylic, 18×24.jpg)

*Images that do not meet these specifications will fail to upload. Please make sure your files are sized properly before you begin the submission process.
**Size to be specified in INCHES in HxWxD with D-Depth only required for 3-D work.

The SCA will be using EntryThingy as its online submission provider for this exhibition.
