Become a member
The Society of Canadian Artists welcomes applications from all artists – which may included techniques such as painting, drawing, pastel, printmaking, sculpture, fibre art, photography, mixed media and digital artwork. Artwork generated using artificial intelligence (AI) platform is not permitted.
The SCA offers two levels of membership:
Elected Member which is geared to professional artists who have gone through the adjudication process, or artists who have successfully been accepted to three SCA Open Juried Exhibitions within a period of 5 years.
Associate Member include artists who have not undergone adjudication as well as art supporters and aficionados.
Applicants to the Society of Canadian Artists must be:
Canadian citizens or Permanent resident
1) A Canadian-born citizen living in Canada, or are temporarily or permanently living outside of Canada.
2) Born outside of Canada but have become a Permanent Resident and currently reside in Canada.
Benefits of becoming a member of Canada’s most influential and encompassing art organization, including the following:
Elected members are permitted to use the prestigious “SCA” designation after their name.
Participation in respected member-only gallery and online exhibitions.
Elected members have the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting.
“The SCA awards over $15,000 annually in show prizes. Notably, at the Elected Member Juried Exhibition, the coveted Best in Show title earns the recipient the prestigious Mary Pratt Crystal Bowl Award along with a $5,000 prize.

Access to our SCA newsletter, which is published 4 times a year.
Participation in private Facebook Group Page.
Invitations to Society exhibitions and other Society events.
How to become a member
Our membership year runs from May 1 to April 30
Associate Member
Associate membership is open throughout the year. Artists considering undergoing the adjudication process for Elected membership are encouraged to join as an Associate member until the next jury date.
