Brenda Matsen is an international award-winning representational artist, an Elected Member of the Society of Canadian Artists, a Signature Status Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a Master Pastelist residing in western Canada. Growing up on a farm in northern British Columbia, living in rural communities and watching her children learn and grow, fostered her love of nature and observing people and animals in their environments. Brenda's works are enjoyed in numerous private collections in Canada, the US and Europe.

Brenda is inspired by the moments that build the stories of our lives and is passionate about creating realistic artwork to capture those moments in time.  

Brenda Matsen’s love of learning and creating has been a constant theme throughout her life. Brenda resides in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island with her husband and their dogs.
