Laura has her roots in Scottish bagpipes and English tea and practices Chinese Brush Painting, Sumi-e and mixed media abstracts. Introduced to a variety of cultures at a young age, her creative curiosity was inspired by a Chinese brush painting on an antique tea wagon.
She is In constant awe of the cultural exchanges available as a Canadian artist. Laura’s art is a fusion of ancient Chinese and Japanese painting styles used in her own creations of Canadian themes, while incorporating zen-like feelings to her mixed media abstracts..
Laura’s works are in private and permanent collections across the globe.
Her accolades include Excellence Awards from the International Chinese Calligraphy & Ink Painting Society in Tokyo, Sumi-E Artists of Canada and the Marty’s (Established Visual Fine Artist 2017).
She is currently the President & Director for the ICCPS NA (International Chinese Calligraphy & Ink Paint Society, North America).
