Biographical Info
Always curious, Linda’s practice includes painting, printmaking and assemblage.

Linda Finn has been making art for most of her life. She studied art at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, the University of Waterloo (Fine Arts Department), the Massachusetts College of Art & Design, and the former White Mountain Academy of the Arts in Elliot Lake, Ontario. Linda has participated in over 250 group and solo exhibitions, including shows in Canada, the United States, Mexico,Japan and France. She is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour, the Ontario Society of Artists, the Northern Ontario Art Association, and the Society of Canadian Artists. Her work may be found in public, corporate and private collections in Canada and abroad.

 

Willing to share her knowledge, Linda has taught numerous workshops for schools and art organizations. She has convened Watercolour Symposia and Arts & Crafts Conferences, helped set up the local arts council and co-op gallery, served as an advisor for Cambrian College in Sudbury, and has been a juror for many art exhibitions and shows across Ontario. In 1992, she received the Lescarbot Award from the Canadian government and the Canada 125 Medal from the Ontario government for her volunteer work in the arts.

 

She lives in Elliot Lake Ontario, with her husband and thespian, Murray.
