Martha's paintings, whether abstract or contemporary landscapes, capture stories and emotions in layers of texture and colour.

Martha Moore SCA,  NCFA, OSA  was raised in Calgary and has spent the last 30 years in Alberta and Ontario. After a fulfilling career in broadcast journalism and corporate communications, Martha credits the move to the beautiful Okanagan Valley and recently to Georgian Bay as a motivation behind her shift from interpreting the world through writing, to drawing and painting.

“When I paint I’m totally immersed in the moment and lose many hours focused only on my canvas the marks I make and the feelings they evoke. When the painting is finished, my canvas is covered in paint and as a rule so am I, and what emerges from layers of texture and colour often creates a story capturing emotion and mystery; apart from any intention on my behalf, and quite arresting in its intensity. I’m very grateful for the paintings I’m able to create and even more grateful for the connections and pleasure they bring to others.”

Martha’s artwork can be found in galleries across North America including  ARTE funktional Kelowna/Vernon, BC, Federation Gallery, Vancouver BC, Mountainside Gallery, Collingwood ON and ARTSY, New York, NY.

Gallery Representation: ARTE Funktional, Kelowna/Vernon BC and Mountainside Gallery, Collingwood ON.
