Kathy Traeger transitioned to full time painter in 2017 after having spent thirty two years as a graphic designer
working for various design studios, advertising agencies, printing facilities in both Canada and the USA.

Traeger doesn’t lean towards traditional landscapes or subject matter. She loves to bring a hyper realist style into her work. Inspiration is pulled from urban landscapes, old buildings, weathered signage, anything that is iconic, eclectic or rusty. There are stories in all of these forgotten treasures just waiting to be unleashed in a painting.

Kathy Traeger is an elected member with the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA), is a signature member with the Federation of Canadian Artists (SFCA), and has her signature status (ISAP) with the International Society of Acrylic Painters.
